Summertime

The image reminds me of the Joni Mitchell song, "The Hissing of Summer Lawns," but without the dark suburban connotations....

Happy August to all of you!

To see the Summer Sky
Is Poetry, though never in a Book it lie -
True Poems flee.

This photo SO screams summer; I can almost hear those sprinklers and feel the mist. Love the fun slides in the background. (Although this isn't a golf course, I immediately thought of a scene from Caddyshack when the automatic sprinklers are going off. Not quite Joni Mitchell!)

We don't see scenes like this much here any more after years of water restrictions. :( I feel cooler just looking at sprinklers in summer!

Yes, a midsummer's scene for sure. Glad you both liked it :)
I hadn't thought about that scene from Caddyshack, but you're right, Katie!

The sprinklers do add a cooling to a summer evening. I'm sorry you have water restriction there, Shell. Here in southern Idaho, we really ought to restrict our water use more than we do, because we actually live in a high desert, hot and dry. Once you drive out of the city, it's range land, sagebrush, and rocks.
