Passage

Fast away the old year passes...

Hail the new ye lads and lasses...

Sing we joyous now together...

Heedless of the wind and weather...

May 2013 bring healing, peace, and much good.
Happy New Year to all!

Holiday flash mob?

And the lights continue onward....

Strange beauty

I've been busy lately with all the things that go on during this time of year. As a breather, here are some "non-holiday" scenes -- photos I took along the river earlier this fall. Strange beauty of a different season.

Discoveries en route

A single-handed effort?

Geese, disorganized

Autumn moon

Tapping a vein?

The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes.

From a feline point of view

I see all these people rushing around, going shopping....

I'd rather go mousing.

You herd them until they're going in circles...

Then you circle in on a nap.

Right before the frost

Don't knock the weather; nine-tenths of the people couldn't start a conversation if it didn't change once in a while.

A few Fall reflections

"Nice" clouds

These photos are for my friend, Jeneba, who lives on the east coast, and asked today for some "nice clouds", rather than the stormy billows of Sandy.

Only from the heart can you touch the sky.

Autumn glow

Winter is an etching, spring a watercolor, summer an oil painting and autumn a mosaic of them all.

Bonsai and optical illusions

Along with the bonsai show was a bonsai demonstration. Taking photos of it was a challenge, often with surreal results.

A "double-duty" fist: is it a chin rest or poking the soil? The evergreen cuff is lovely, don't you think?

The man in yellow suddenly stepped up, concerned that the lady's arm was being wired into a bonsai display.

Some people are so into this, their heads morph into bushes.

Look, there's a camera! Everyone say che-e-e-ese....

By the way, the demo was well done. These folks know their bonsai.

Tiny treasures

We recently saw a bonsai exhibit by the Boise Bonsai Society. It was part of a Koi and Goldfish Show by the Idaho Water Garden & Koi Society.

Amazing root forms!
