Lately I’ve heard some incredible music (on CD since Boise is not a “music mecca”):

Bobo Stenson Trio, Cantando
Vince Mendoza, Blauklang
Irma Thomas, Simply Grand
Maria Schneider Orchestra, Sky Blue
All are jazz except for Irma Thomas, the “Soul Queen of New Orleans”, who does it so very well on this CD, accompanied by some of the best blues-jazz pianists around.
Tonight’s photo is in honor of Maria Schneider, who won a Grammy this year for her composition “Cerulean Skies,” which is on Sky Blue. Schneider is an avid birdwatcher and Cerulean Skies is a marvelous, uplifting piece, a “musical poem” of birds migrating to Central Park in the spring.

Beautiful clouds! We've been having lots of fog, but not cool clouds like this. I haven't heard any of the music you've listed; I'll have to check it out!
Some of the music (Stenson, Mendoza, Thomas) has not yet been formally released; they will be during this month. My husband writes music reviews for national press and sometimes receives advance copies of amazing CDs.
I love how clouds look after a cold front has moved through and the air is fresh and clean. The cirrus clouds remind me of energy waves.
Just lovely. It will be many moons before we see clouds like this out here.
Miss H, I'm glad the clouds inspired your cello. Perhaps when a storm blows through I'll be able to catch a shot of storm clouds to inspire your drumming.
Altadenahiker, with Boise being inland and a high desert climate, we often have lots of sun and blue skies (altho the smog is growing, due to all the growth over the last 15 years). But, being originally from the midwest, I wish it would rain here more often :)
