School started today in Boise. I don’t know how old this building is, but I like the “ornamentation” framing the front door.
Soon, the early mornings will bring strains of melodies from the school marching band as they practice the art of marching and playing music, simultaneously.
More coffee, please…

I'm sure most of the junior high kids going here don't care about the great architectural details of this door, but I sure thinks it's a great element! I was too busy swimming and playing basketball to be in the band (plus I don't play an instrument), but it was always fun to watch the marching band practice. I wonder what pop tunes marching bands will be playing this year.
I was in marching band in jr. high and high school. I took a peek at what sheet music companies are pushing to band directors this year. Here are the "favs": "Ain’t no other man", "Accidentally in Love", "4 Minutes", and last, but not least this blast from the past, "25 or 6 to 4." Of course, nearly every marching band does some rendition of "Louie, Louie"...
