The Belgravia

Next to the CW Moore Park is the Belgravia building. Built in 1904, it was Boise’s first apartment building, and it has stone walls up to two feet thick. It now houses various businesses and offices. on top,

I love the balconies and the nooks and crannies of this building.

Isn't this staircase unusual? The steps are steep, though. I wonder what it was like to live there in the early 1900s?

Fabulous building! I would love to know what the apartments looked like back in the day. I would definitely want one of the apartments with a balcony. Life in Boise in the early 1900s must have been very interesting. And possibly drafty. How did they survive without polarfleece?

the stone stairs are steep to keep the dress' train from dragging. sweet sounds of a violin sang out from the balcony years ago....

Katie, I'd want one with a balcony, too, and not one of the basement apts. It probably was quite drafty during the winter. I think they had a lot of wool clothing to keep warm. Polarfleece is so much softer :)

Cool, Sandy. Sweet song of a violin overheard by passers-by...
