Reaching for the sky

Evening on a rainy day.

The tree is more than first a seed, then a stem, then a living trunk, and then dead timber. The tree is a slow, enduring force straining to win the sky.

What a beautiful tree! Perfect sky to highlight all the branches and delicate strands hanging down. I do prefer trees all covered in leaves, but it is fun to see how different the naked trees look in the winter.

thanks, Katie! I, too, prefer leaves, but sometimes, when the light is right, bare trees can be really powerful.
