About dogwoods

I go to nature to be soothed and healed, and to have my senses put in order.
~John Burroughs

The poetry of the earth is never dead.

fingertip paradise -
elongated water
drops clinging to a dog
wood petal
's velvet under
side
invite an index
finger to stretch an
out
line: a lake
with invisible
waves just
fluttering
eyelashes, then
velvet rubs a cheek
or between fingertips,
textures define a life
if this touch
touches what seems too inward
to reach

Much as I like all of these, the top one is work of art.

Gorgeous! Dogwoods really are beautiful; wish they grew better where I live.

Thank you, Altadenahiker; the top photo is my favorite, too. The light was just perfect at that moment.

And thank you, Katie. Dogwoods will grow here, but they need to be sheltered somewhat during winter.

Those are all so beautiful. They really brightened my stuck-inside day.
