Bird watching

Or, in a nod to Gertrude Stein,
Pigeon in the glass, alas!

cracked - the Press called
Gertrude
& Alice - no

more cracked than
stained glass in which
in cubist heaven

a pigeon on the vertical
grass plane
plain soars -

simultaneously,
common sense flies then
perches alert on the way

to un
common
beauty

Hail to your anonymous poet, Ms. M., who does justice to the beauty of this remarkable photo.

That pigeon sure picked a pretty window perch. The glass is beautiful; bummer it's a bit busted though. Was this part of a bigger stained glass window?

Exquisite words, Anon....

Thanks, Petrea, from me and my Anon poet (who happens to live in the same house with me :) )

Katie, This is part of a larger stained glass window. It's part of an old church building which had been neglected for a long time, but is now undergoing repair. Plans are for it to become a children's performing arts school.

Lucky you. I know how nice it is to live with a poet.

We are both lucky :)
