Late summer

Deep summer is when laziness finds respectability.
~Sam Keen

And finally -- because I like this quote, even though it's not July and we don't have cicadas here:

I drifted into a summer-nap under the hot shade of July, serenaded by a cicadae lullaby, to drowsy-warm dreams of distant thunder.
~Terri Guillemets

I was hoping you'd bring me flowers.

Beautiful, Ms.M. A frenzy of desperate insect-seducers baring all to the world.

Lazy flowers!

Hiker: And so I did.

Dive: The bees were quite busy, certainly frenzied.

Thank you, Sonia. :-)

Petrea: The flowers do look rather lazy, don't they? I especially think the one in the first photo, the purple coneflower, looks particularly slothful.

So many beautiful flowers there! And glad to know that in August I can call myself respectably lazy instead of just lazy.

Thanks, Katie. It IS nice to know we can be respectably lazy during August.

Idaho seems to be having a never-ending fire season. I know it's a big state, with a really wonky boundary. Are you far from it all and safe?

Very Purty! Looks like you are enjoying your summer.

Hiker: We are safe from the fires in Boise, although we do get the smoke. (Thank you for asking :-)) Idaho has a huge wilderness area:

Hi Margaret: Thank you -- and it looks like (from your blog) you've been enjoying your summer, too, yes?
