Yes, we don't get the right cold snap. Can't grow tulips, either. Oddly, shouldn't be able to grow hyacinths, but once I bought a plant in a grocery store and when it finished blooming, dug the bulbs a shallow grave. They come back year after year.
Thank you, Shell. I'm glad this can give you a little Spring during your Fall :-)
Altadenahiker: No tulips either? That's a bummer! You must have a special touch with hyacinths though, for them to make a repeat appearance year after year.
Wow, these are beauties, Ms. M! The flowers as well as the photos. Gorgeous. I planted some bulbs and I usually get a few days of tulips but they didn't work out very well this year.

Wow, such beautiful blooms! At least all that rain has given you these pretty flowers.
unconscious of how much winter
bleakness connects
to their absence -
shocked by how over
night every hue
fires imagination
of a constant July -
their profusions wind
tossed invite inner
songs in praise to
-- no, don't cultivate
a name for this - just
praise
Oh, lucky you. We're not daffodil territory here, though lord knows, I've tried. What are the tree blossoms?
Thank you, Katie. The blooms are wonderful this spring!
Anon, much praise for such a great poem xxoo
Altadenhiker: I think the tree blossoms might be ornamental pear. Is it too warm and dry for daffodils there?
These are magnificent, Ms M. I'm looking forward to the bulbs blossoming here - though I have to wait my turn for our Spring to arrive.

Such beauty, Ms.M. I'm so jealous that you have had a real spring. Thank you for sharing and brightening my damp, grey and rainy little corner.
Glad to oblige, Dive. I hope the sun finds its way to you soon!

Thanks, Petrea. We've had a good season for flowers this year, so I thought I'd take advantage of it.
