Tablerock in red
Something sensational to end the weekend.
And because it will soon be Monday and the start of another work week...
Every day I get up and look through the Forbes list of the richest people in America. If I'm not there, I go to work.

Roadwork ahead

The moon is full tonight. Outside we hear the sounds of crickets and frogs -- and the distant rumble of machines.

Recipe?
Came across this while taking a walk. Wonder if there's a record of this on paper in the archives of City Hall?
On another note: the vines on the right are Virginia Creeper. Although it's pretty, this plant grows vociferously and will take over trees, telephone poles and anything else it can get a grip on. We've had personal encounters with this plant in the back yard of our new place. It had nearly smothered a deck and 5 rose bushes, and had spread into other parts of the yard. I think we've gotten rid of most of it by now. We'll see what it does next spring....

Pining for you...
in the half moonlight
orange cones glow
orange cones glow
like those along a disturbed highway
there's no reason for cone-descension
these are not pseudocones;
these are not pseudocones;
slip one into a bottle
and watch it
open to you
and watch it
open to you

Remembering Mom...
My mother grew up in the country and rode her pony, Joe, to the tiny school she attended during 1st through 8th grade. She often talked about those days with great fondness. Here, she and Joe are ready to go for a ride.

End of summer
The pool is closed now; school's in session and Labor Day makes Fall "official".
I can't find info on the history of this pool, but I love how it looks so 1920s. It sits next to Lowell School, which I featured in my August 24 post.

Morning surprise
As I was driving to work, I noticed several hot air balloons floating in the distance. When I arrived at my office, balloons were floating overhead, all around us.
I later read that this launch was the kick-off for the 2010 Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic; balloons will grace the skies the next 3 mornings.

This one nearly landed in a schoolyard. |
Then, it finally rose back up into the sky. |
