Autumn scenes

Sunrise

By the river at dusk

Almost Halloween

When a river at dusk declares
itself moody in Idaho there's an anticipatory atmosphere
of 19th century France wheat fields, some
glimmer of welcome
fatigue as a light rain
may fall within the hour
on a painter then photographer
now compact
imagination
makes this compact
with how Europe
sails west
to find a new
world old order
where waves
mirror a lone
fisherman who might as well
be standing in deep furrows in a wheat
field
to meet his late
neighbor

I love the jolly-looking Halloween pumpkins !! Quaint and benevolent, give me those over the ghoulish horror themes any day of the week. Those things scare the Bee Gees out of me. :)

Thank you, Anon, for a wonderful poem! xxoo

Hi Shell, I saw these in a yard in a neighborhood near where I work. They are jolly-looking! Perfect for fall and Halloween....
