Moving into Spring

It's finally becoming Spring. The songbirds have returned; tree branches are fat with buds

Sun-drenched jonquils finally blooming

And soon I'll put away the winter wools

And winter hats

And seek something lighter

for Spring

as winter knits
into Spring, not
knotted distinct
border but a river
of diffuse blues & reds
flowing so that
front of near-Spring
leaps out
in a blink
from fringe
of past-winter - or
maybe a long low arc
but think of my wife
knitting one
season into
another
that metallic
ring of her
needles?
ice
melting

I'm so happy for you, Ms M. There's nothing quite like the feeling of Spring in the air. You're very cute in your woollen cloche !! I look forward to seeing your knitted straw version in due course. ;)

Anon, thank you for you wonderful words. Spring is coming and the ice is melting....

Hi Shell, thank you. I'll have to get to work on the straw version of the cloche ;)

Sounds lovely to hear the songbirds, see the tree branches are fat with buds and see many flowers!
Love the pictures!

I'll miss the knitted gauntlets.

Yes, Petrea and I are fighting over those.

Thank you, Sonia! It's nice that spring is arriving!

Petrea, Karin: Maybe I can find a pattern for a chain mail vest to go with the gauntlets ;)
