Snowy weekend

After a 2-day winter storm which brought over 7.5 inches of snow and arctic temperatures.

7.5 inches isn't much in some places, but it's an unusual amount of snow here; in fact, it broke records set in November 1937.

It also rained during the storm, which then became ice. Icy snow clumps still cling to trees and bushes, weighing them down, breaking some.
And then there's driving on icy roads, which has been very  "entertaining".

But some creatures are not worried about ice, snow, cold, or terrible road conditions. They just don't want to be disturbed during nap time....

cat dreams of raining
mice in spite of blizzards -

her equivalent of "raining cats
& dogs." Her indoor life makes

weather wallpaper. We trekking thru
snow drifts remind cats to be

grateful for indoor warmth. But
their indoors welcomes a window

across which falling leaves or finches become their mice

momentarily, storm pattern up
setting their weather

expectations. With Cyclops eye one
eye is all she needs to track

next storm

Anonymous has the feline mind figured and set down in wonderful words.
That's scary weather, Ms.M. After a summer of suffering cloud envy for your beautiful skies I am now rather glad to be living low down on the coast.

Cold, but pretty! It feels good to provide shelter to a critter.

Anon, excellent poem! (The resident feline likes it, too...)

Thank you, Dive. The weather has been scary and the roads and parking lots are a pain to deal with. Plus the temps have been in the single digits at night and below freezing in the day, so nothing much is melting.

Petrea: This critter especially loves the "choices" of "beds" she has throughout the house. :-)

I think I want to be your cat. And driving on ice is a sport, isn't it? I remember you're supposed to drive into a spin, but that was pretty scary.

Macie does have "the good life", for sure. (Although right now, the food bowl is empty - and it's a crisis)
Driving has been very sporting here, rather like "Roadway Bumpercars".
Turn into a spin to keep from cutting a donut on the ice -- Unless you're Nancy Kerrigan... :-)

How gorgeous ~ and I'm very glad I didn't have to drive in it! Especially given I have zero experience of driving on icy roads. Macie has the right idea. Have a lovely Sunday, dear Ms M! Hugs from Ella and me.
