Life is like a rose garden - watch for the thorns and keep the pest dust handy.

in asserting a rose is a rose is a rose Miss Stein was paying second by second attention so that unfolding life petal-quivering wouldn't become noun-coffin container but verb-vector alive coming at us - so in your photos they're moving toward us, demanding no less than sustained sustaining realness "rose" only approximates
Dang, my comment was eaten ~ by an aphid, perhaps? I think it was along the lines of admiring the translucent quality of the pink rose and wondering whether I can muster the patience to try growing some again! They are beautiful, Ms M.

I can almost smell these, really.
I always seek out a nose-high rose for that very purpose.
Anon is on top logolicious form.
Such delicate perfection, Ms.M.
My roses are aphid magnets so it's a delight to see yours unblemished.
Wow, and double-triple wow on that top one.
Anon, your poem is a true rose :)
Petrea: Seeking out a nose-high rose is a good idea. I wonder if someday there will be a way to attach "scent" files to a blog?
Dive: Anon appreciates the good words. Amazingly, these roses were *sans* aphids.
Karin: Double and triple thanks! :-)
I wouldn't be surprised if we have the scent file technology already, and are just looking for an economical way to do it.
You're probably right. Then we'll have "Insta-scent", "Fragrant Facebook", and "Blog-aroma".
Those are gorgeous. The colors are so delicate and gentle. Who needs a scent file I can smell them already.
Thanks, Margaret. You're right; some images readily evoke a scent in the imagination....

The roses are beautiful and you took great photos of them.
I like the quote, it is wise.
PS: Thank you for your kind and comforting words about Flora. I agree with you, the memories of the good times are precious.
Thank you, Shell. I'm sorry an aphid ate your first comment. Perhaps I should put out some ladybugs :)
Sonia, thank you for your kind words. (())
