Sundance Daisy (Such a fitting name)
So many artists and writers have been influenced by the beauty of flowers:
Flowers seem intended for the solace of ordinary humanity.
~John Ruskin
Blue flax
I perhaps owe having become a painter to flowers.
~Claude Monet
Columbine; remind me of star bursts.
Flowers open every night
across the sky, a breathing peace,
and sudden flame catching.
~ Rumi
Lavender Penstemon
Still, there's always another point of view:
I hate flowers. I only paint them because they're cheaper than models and they don't move.
~ Georgia O'Keeffe

These are so delicate and so lovely. Wonderful work.
Hoorah for Georgia!
Beautiful flowers, Ms.M. I especially love the columbine.
I'll add the "Consider the lily …" sketch from Life of Brian.
Everyone is posting such pretty flowers today. So beautiful.
Barb and Margaret: Thank you. :) The flowers are so beautiful right now, I just can't resist taking photos of them, and the roses are beginning to bloom....
Sheila:Thanks. I've always admired Georgia O'Keeffe.
Dive: I like the columbine, too. That particular species used to grow in a flowerbed at my childhood home.
Of course we must consider the lily. And blessed are they who convert their neighbour's ox, for they shall inhibit their girth...
god
blessed
god
damned
flowers, my
old man
spray painted
them, but
you
let them defy
time, your
lens double
daring them
to fade. They don't
in mind
Far better to be blessed....
Powerful poem, Anon.
Those top ones look like they're reaching for the sun. Oh, Georgia, Georgia.
The yellow ones were reaching for the sun and dancing, a lot of them had springy, curved stalks.
I couldn't pass up Georgia's thoughts :-)
