Even without leaves these trees have personality. Right now in NorCal there are trees like this, ones with fall-colored leaves, evergreens, and even magnolias and cherry trees that have started to bloom. Trees are so fun to watch!

Thanks, Katie. :-) Trees are fascinating, with all their different moods, characteristics. There is a fir tree in the n/hood that looks like a sorceress with her hands held out to cast a spell. I'll have to try and get a photo of it.
