Having lunch

This is a peregrine falcon that lives at the MK Nature Center. The bird was injured and rehabbed, but can no longer survive in the wild due to the injury. On this day, we watched the falcon eat its lunch. (Yes, the mouse was already dead).

The relationship between the bird and the handler moved me - you can best see it in the 2nd and 4th photos.

Looking down on a goose with her goslings. The goslings are on the right side of the photo, camouflaged by plants and the shadows of leaves. There are seven of them (I think); three near the mother and four more at the top left.

Moss - the silvery beads are fish eggs. This reminds me of photos of nebulae sent by Hubble.

Buds, blooms, and birds

Lovely warm weather and so many blossoms! Songbirds are back - singing their exquisite songs. Watched a hawk circle, soar, with sun shining through its wings. Later it swooped over our back yard and perched in a tree, groomed its feathers, scanned the scene before taking off into the sky.

And as the shadows of evening approach, the neighborhood ducks nap in the remaining rays of the sun.

Taking a break....
