Restless weather

Spring storms lately; rain, hail, wind. Warm Monday, 20 degrees colder today. (At least we didn't have snow, like some other parts of the country). All part of the rite of spring.

No matter how long the winter, spring is sure to follow.

Dinner with Rothko

We had pasta with chicken and veggies tossed in olive oil topped with grated Romano cheese, salad, apples, and pieces of dark chocolate for dessert.

How was your dinner?

Awesome visions

It's the 20th anniversary of the Hubble telescope. So, the featured images tonight are from Hubble. This photo is Stephan's Quintet, a group of galaxies located in the constellation Pegasus.

This is the Cat's Eye Nebula, and from Hubble's site: "One of the first planetary nebulae discovered, it also has one of the most complex forms known to this kind of nebula. Eleven rings, or shells, of gas make up the nebula. The Cat's Eye Nebula is about 1,000 years old, and could have resulted from a double-star system."

From lines to drops

Rains came last night and today, more predicted for tomorrow. Makes me want to sing, in the rain :)

Under my tree-roof
slanting lines of April rain

Time for nesting

Pairs of geese and ducks are building nests, guarding their territory. It won't be too long before we see their downy babies. Canadian geese mate for life and family groups usually stay together as a flock.

How do geese know when to fly to the sun? Who tells them the seasons? How do we, humans know when it is time to move on? As with the migrant birds, so surely with us, there is a voice within if only we would listen to it, that tells us certainly when to go forth into the unknown.

Clouds, sunset

I am a sky where spirits live.
Stare into this deepening blue,

while the breeze says a secret.

Trio

After days of storms and rain, sunshine came. Blossoms sprang up from the ground, as if the blooms were impatient with the lingering cold weather. Here's a three-part song to spring.

The temple bell stops but I still hear the sound coming out of the flowers.

Blossoms

It's always inspiring to me to see trees in bloom in spring.

Wondrous weather

Today we had rain, sleet, snow -- and later, skies like this.
April Fool to us from Mother Spring.
